“The music of chance” by Paul Auster
“The Music of Chance is a strange, haunting parable from the pen of Paul Auster, one of America’s contemporary authors. In 1993 the novel was made into a movie that, I think, is far more known than the book itself.
Jim Nashe has taken to the wide-open road in pursuit of ‘a life of freedom’, bankrolled by a large sum of money inherited on his father’s dead. One fine summer morning he stops his car to offer a ride to the bedraggled figure of Jack Pozzi, itinerant gambler and card-player”.
