Universitarias de MIT visitan las clases de inglés
¡Feliz año nuevo! ¡2015 ha empezado muy bien en nuestro clase de inglés Young Learners 4! El primer día, los alumnos se reencontraron para ponerse al día y escuchar las aventuras de todos los compañeros durante las Navidades. Luego prepararon 20 preguntas para una presentación sobre la vida universitaria por tres estudiantes de MIT que estaban estudiando en Madrid. Cada estudiante de YL 4 eligió dos preguntas para preguntar en inglés durante la presentación. Fue muy informativa y, después, aquí es lo que comentaron los alumnos sobre la experiencia:
- Fue muy interesante cuando decían que seria necesaria tener interés en algo como música o ciencia [como actividad extra escolar].
- Fue guay cuando hablaron de la gente que vive en el campus.
- Yo pensaba que fue muy interesante que asistían la universidad y no sabían qué quieren hacer en el futuro. Yo pensaba si asistían a una universidad técnica les gustaría ser técnico informático o algo relacionado.
- Parecía muy interesante que hacen todo de la vida en la universidad – comen, duermen, juegan y estudian allí y sólo tienen 3 meses cuando no tienen que estudiar.
- Yo pensé que era muy interesante cuando hablaban de lo que querían ser cuando salen de la universidad y no lo saben todavía.
- MIT parece una universidad muy listo.
Contando cosas sobre la vida en la uni en EEUU
Este mes, además de aprender sobre la vida y lugares en la ciudad, pedir información, gramática y las profesiones, aprendieron también sobre Martin Luther King, Jr., cuyo cumpleaños fue celebrado en EE.UU. el 19 de enero. La vida de este gran hombre y la historia del movimiento de derechos civiles es muy fascinante. Todos estaban de acuerdo que Martin Luther King, Jr. fue una persona muy valiente y buena.

Happy New Year! 2015 is off to a great start in the Young Learners 4 English class! On the first day, the students caught up and heard about everyone’s adventures during the Christmas holidays. Then they prepared 20 questions for a presentation about college life at the Institute by three MIT students that were visiting Madrid. Each YL4 student chose two questions to ask in English during the presentation. It was very informative and, afterward, here is what the students had to say about the experience:
- It was interesting when they said that you need to be interested in something like music or science [as extracurricular activities].
- It was cool when they spoke about the people that are living on campus.
- I thought it was interesting that they went to that school and they didn’t know what they wanted to do in the future. I think if they go to a technology school they want to be a computer technician or something related to that.
- I thought it was interesting that they do all their life in the university – they eat, sleep, play and study there and they only have 3 months without studying.
- I thought it was interesting when they talked about what they wanted to be when they leave the university and they don’t know what they want to be.
- MIT sounds like a very smart university.
This month, in addition to learning about city living & locations, asking for information, relative pronouns and occupations, Young Learners 4 also learned all about Martin Luther King, Jr. whose birthday was celebrated in the U.S. on January 19th. The life of this great man and the history of the civil rights movement is quite fascinating. Everyone agreed that Martin Luther King, Jr. was a very brave and good person.
