Earth Day en Young Learners 2
Coming on the heels of Earth Day, during May the YL2 class’s theme was Our Earth and they did many fun activities!
Kicking things off after Earth Day, they worked in teams on a word mine of Earth Day. They tried creating as many words as they could by using only the letters found in Earth Day. Eat… Heart… Tea… Try… Each… and more! How many words can you think of?
Then, they discovered Jane Goodall and learned about her preservation efforts and animal studies by reading a book about her life.
After learning vocabulary and reading about Earth’s geography and landscapes, the children made creative collages of our planet and colorful flowers from tissue paper.
Después del Día de la Tierra (Earth Day), durante mayo el tema de la clase YL2 fue nuestra Tierra, con muchas actividades que las hicieron aun más divertidas!
Trabajaron en equipos en una “mina de palabras” sobre “Earth Day”. Intentaron crear tantas palabras como pudieran utilizando sólo las letras que se encuentran en Earth Day. Eat… Heart… Tea… Try… Each… y más! ¿En cuántas palabras puedes pensar?
Luego, descubrieron a Jane Goodall y aprendieron sobre sus esfuerzos de conservación y estudios en animales mediante la lectura de un libro sobre su vida.
Después de aprender el vocabulario y la lectura sobre la geografía y los paisajes de la Tierra, los niños hicieron collages creativos de nuestro planeta y coloridas flores de papel de seda.
