Durante este trimestre en American Literature analizaremos algunas de las historias de misterio y detectives más conocidas, escritas por los autores norteamericanos más importantes dentro de la novela negra. También analizaremos series de televisión, series, podcast y películas sobre este género que ha ampliado su alcance más allá de lo literario, entrando en todas las facetas del entretenimiento norteamericano.

Los estudiantes desarrollarán y mejorarán su inglés y herramientas de comunicación mediante debates en el aula, escritura de relatos cortos (en blogs o ensayos) y con el complemento de material audiovisual y la participación online a través de la plataforma digital Blackboard. This trimester in American Literature we will examine some of the best-known mystery and detective stories from America’s most famous noir authors, as well as other forms (television series, podcasts, films, etc.) that have expanded the genre’s reach beyond the literary and into every facet of American entertainment.

Students will develop and improve their English language communication skills through class discussions, short writing assignments (e.g., blog posts or response papers), and supplementary audio-visual materials, as well as through online participation using the Blackboard digital platform.
