YL2 Shapes and Silhouettes, Formas y Siluetas
Young Learners 2 did a creative project with shadows using recycled paper on October 22nd. The students read a story together about making animal shapes using hands and a flashlight. Only the description of one of the shapes alluded to Halloween, with its howling dog, but as you can see in the pictures, its theme is there in the legs of a zombie, a bat, and a spider, along with the family of birds and the dog itself, which make it look like we were already starting to celebrate Halloween. It wasn’t the case, nor the intention, but either the story’s spooky context of a storm knocking out the power or that howling dog – or just the fact that Halloween was near made the students have it on their brains. Young Learners hizo un proyecto de crear sombras utilizando papel reciclado el 22 de octubre. Los alumnos leyeron juntos un cuento sobre hacer sombras con las manos y una linterna. Solo la descripción de una de las formas hizo referencia a Halloween, con su perro que aullaba, pero se ve el tema en las fotos, con las piernas de un zombie, el murciélago y la araña, luego están la familia de pájaros y el perro mismo, y todo eso pinta de estar celebrando Halloween. No fue así ni había la intención, pero los alumnos lo tenía en mente o por la tormenta que quitó la luz en el cuento o ese perro aullando o solo el hecho de que Halloween estaba acercando.
