Reading Across America with Kids Club 3

YL1 Saturdays this Winter
This trimester in YL1 Saturdays, we have been improving our reading, listening, and pronunciation skills by enjoying different books from the library of the International Institute. YL 4 celebrates Black History Month
Last month the students in YL4 did their own Black History Month research projects in the computer lab and then gave group presentations to the rest of the class. We learned so many interesting things from each other about people like Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman, and Granville Woods. This group is more impressive each week!

YL 4 MW Class – Edgar Allan Poe
The YL4 M-W group tackled the Poe classic «Murders in the Rue Morgue» which is said to be the first modern detective story. Students then tested each other with true/false questions based on the story. We ended class with a round «Cluedo.» (It was Colonel Mustard with the dagger in the library).
