About The Madrid International Choir
The Madrid International Choir is an English-speaking choir in the heart of Madrid. The choir has no affiliation with any church or religion and welcomes singers of any faith or none.
Timothy Jones has been musical director of the choir, with Tanya Balashova as associate, since September 2022 when the choir resumed activity following the pandemic. Their repertoire ranges from formal, classical pieces to songs by contemporary and living composers. It is a truly international choir with members from Australia, Austria, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, the Netherlands, Scotland, South Africa, the USA, Peru, Venezuela, Wales, and of course… Spain!
The Ensemble that accompanies the choir is a group of formally-trained, volunteer musicians on strings and woodwinds, with occasional guest players.
