Some say that 22-year-old Amanda Gorman stole the show at U.S. President Joe Biden’s inauguration last month when she recited her poem “The Hill We Climb.” Since that event, Gorman, the first National Youth Poet Laureate, has signed with a modeling agency, and she will recite an original poem before Super Bowl LV on Sunday, Feb. 7.
Join the International Institute in a discussion of Gorman’s inauguration and Super Bowl poems. U.S. poet Layla Benitez-James will facilitate the virtual conversation, which will take place in English via Zoom. The event is open to adults and to teenagers age 16 and up.
